    Niccu jaan,

We not only enjoyed the site, we were proud and fired up. I shared it in my face book and with my friend. Sharareh with over 1000 friends forwarded the web page to her friends. I am going to send an email to some Iranian TV and Radios so if they want to share the information with their audience, they do.
    please do not forget us.

Let me start by congratulating you for such an amazing art and for your love to your country! It is very rare to see someone like you spending over 20 years time effort helping presenting a good image of Iran and tradition. I really enjoyed touring around your website. I would like to say to everyone that the real dioramas that I saw in your home with 4 dimensions are far more amazing that the corners or pieces of each diorama showed in this website. I would encourage you Niccu jon to include a video showing the full images of your dioramas. In addition, since you always work on new ideas, I suggest to include dance dioramas. As we all know, Persian traditional dance, as traditional music, has always been an important art in Iranian culture. Different ethnic groups such as Turkish, Arab, Kurdish, Armenian, and others, each has its own traditional dance and music. I would love to see dioramas representing these ethnic groups showing their dance and clothing. It is just an idea and again congratulations on such a perfect art. You have created a wonderful site for everyone to enjoy!

    All the best,
    Nuzha Tahoe

I suggest in order to show one area (of your interest) more, concentrate in that particular area and show more by creating more objects.

I don’t quite understand what you mean by creating more objects. I am only making the items from my memories. Are you saying that I should focus on fewer areas? Or do you mean that visitors to the website should be able to focus only on one area at a time?

It is good to show historic and traditional buildings and old cultures of each city of Iran separately, for example (Persepolis, Sadi and Hafez tomb, Eram garden,……. In city of Shiraz ).

In this case an excellent job will be done for Iran, because It will present tourist attractions and persuade more travel to Iran.

I have plans to create Saadi and Hafez dioramas, because I’ve been there and I wish to share my memories. Eram is already created, and will need to take photos to post on the site. My intentions aren’t necessarily to increase tourism or improve the image of Iran today. These are my memories from 60 years ago.

I was unaware that men in Iran are not expected to raise their children and instead leave the women to raise the children alone. I found your insight into this issue in “The Struggle” section of your website to be very interesting. In my opinion, this aspect of Iranian culture seems like one that is very detrimental to women’s advancement in Iranian society. It would seem that the burden of raising children alone would keep women from making career or professional advancement in Iranian society. To me, this seems like a major obstacle Iranian women face in their fight for equality.

    1. Niccu Tafarrodi Avatar
      Niccu Tafarrodi

It is not always true that men do not participate in the raising of children. The woman in the diorama is in a class of women suffering from poverty. The husband has no job and he is always looking for work. Therefore he is never around the children.

In your special occasions Ramadan, you said that in America, you could never again experience the beauty and delicacy of the sofreh setting and you wish the younger Iranian generations could experience their own traditional style. I’m wondering if you can create these models of you nostalgic pass then what is preventing you from creating a real life model for the younger generation? I feel that it is the people in my life that made events significantly meaningful so couldn’t you recreate something similar for the younger generation to experience like you did? If your ramadan experience is not the same, what is your family’s current ramadan setting like? I would like to see your view of westernization and is it possible for two culture to blend?

    1. Niccu Tafarrodi Avatar

I am too old now to practice fasting, but we did many of these things in America. Yes it is possible to blend the cultures. The situation is never the same.

    Dear Niccu,

Well done. By reviewing your dioramas at your website and also looking at them in your house refresh my memory of old Iran and the way of life that our parents used to live. I am sure these wonderful objects are the results of many many hours and truly are very valuable. For the new generation of Iranians who grow up here, far from their motherland, these kind of works are very precious and could become a start point for them to study and search more about their culture and past heritage. I know it took you a while to create these number of dioramas from different area of life, culture, etc. I suggest in order to show one area (of your interest) more, concentrate in that particular area and show more by creating more objects.

    Regards,
    Aziz Khazaeli

    Salaam
I do not want to repeat the cliché words of admiring your achievements and efforts but I can not hide the inner excite of encountering the title Diorama which is so profound for the purpose of such a site.

I am sure so many cultural activists and sites would be honored to link you and specially to be linked to your site in order to spread the beautiful idea all around the world, your media to be is a great place for fulfillment of the delicately chosen sections you placed on your site.

    Be Well

    Dear Niccu,
I am so proud of you. You are so talented, creative, and knowledgeable of our history and culture. I wish people could see your whole art work rather than pieces of it. It would be great if you have time to have a video of your work with your voice talking about the memories, and culture. Thanks so much for making we Iranians proud of introducing you to our Non-Iranian friends, and talk about our memories and culture to them through your beautiful work. Thanks again. and remember one day you will be Nobel candidate as I have told you before. Love, Pari Beyzavi

“Remembering Persia” has been a fantastic teaching tool for bringing to life Iran’s past and present for my Global Literature students at the University of Minnesota. Navigating the site allowed them to explore Persian culture in a unique and personalized way. Niccu’s visit to our classroom with one of her dioramas was a powerful experience and a treat for everyone! Her stories and artwork illuminate a world that students don’t have enough opportunities to explore in the current media climate.

Niccu is a member of the Midwest Miniature Guild based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She brought two of her dioramas to our last meeting on May 21, 2011. We were all very impressed with the incredible amount of work she has done on this project and the obvious passion she has brought to it. While dioramas of this type are a great deal different from the things we usually build we could never hope to match the educational value of her work. it was most interesting to be able to see into the lives of these people, to see the differences from our lives and also the similarities. Niccu opened our eyes to another art form. Thank you Niccu!

    Dear Niccu,
What a pleasure… a ‘delicious treat’…to view your dioramas…your memories of life at home in Persia. Being an American with limited knowledge of your culture, I found myself pondering over each picture in the galleries, wondering what they meant to you, how you created them, and how much more there might be to them that isn’t in view. I was truly intrigued as each one piqued my interest to know more about your culture. Having had the special honor of traditional Iranian New Year Dinner at my dear friend Manijeh’s home, I found your Dining Room especially ‘delicious’! …where DO you find the time for all that you do? you are an amazingly talented person to accomplish so much. If you ever get time to elaborate more on the dioramas, it would be great to caption them, so we can know more detail about what is in them, what they mean to you and others who know about them, your inspiration, how you make them. Thank you very much for sharing your talents with us.
